HRIS, stands for Human Resources Information Systems. Also sometimes referred to as HRMS (Human Resources Management System), or HCMS (Human Capital Management System). Although technically, all 3 serves the same purpose yet may offer different features due to usage from different groups of HR stakeholders.

Hence, the core concept to a HR system boils down to who will be using it. Thereafter, you will be able to determine the tools and features required from your HRIS. Most HRIS systems are only as complete as the users use it. Since they can all be expanded further via third-party integrations such as ERP, CRM, CMS etc. So, keep this in mind while you browse around. After all, you wouldn’t want to switch your HRIS once you commit.
